Episcopal SeniorLife Communities (ESLC) is pleased to announce that it is now the sponsoring organization of Oasis Rochester, the local chapter of The Oasis Institute. Oasis is a national nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults through lifelong learning classes, health and wellness programs, technology education and volunteer opportunities.

For more than 40 years, Oasis programs have made a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults across the country — including in Rochester. Oasis Rochester offers a wide range of programs designed specifically for adults 50 and older, including classes in arts, humanities and culture; health and fitness activities; one-on-one technology assistance; and volunteer opportunities that allow older adults to give back to the Rochester community. All programs reflect the Oasis philosophy that older adults deserve enriching, meaningful experiences that support their independence and quality of life.

Under the sponsorship of Episcopal SeniorLife Communities, those programs will continue and expand, supported by ESLC’s deep roots in the Rochester community and its longstanding commitment to older adult well-being.

Ann Cunningham, Executive Director of Oasis Rochester, welcomed the transition. “Joining Episcopal SeniorLife Communities gives Oasis Rochester a greater opportunity to serve even more older adults in our community. They share our belief that aging should be filled with purpose, joy, connection and continued growth, and I couldn’t be more excited about what we’ll be able to accomplish together.”

Oasis Rochester will be relocating from 259 Monroe Avenue to 1530 East Avenue beginning in January, where updated fitness and educational spaces will serve as the new home for Oasis Rochester going forward.
